Google is playing catch-up with Amazon, adding new third-party integrations weekly. The Google Home has been updated to support both Belkin WeMo and Honeywell Smart devices. This means that users will be able to request Google Assistant to switch on the thermostat or lighting fixtures utilizing voice commands.
Ayla Networks, an IoT platform for device manufacturers, announces that Stelpro, a Canadian-based manufacturer of electric heating products, has chosen its IoT platform for the new Maestro Smart Thermostats.

Research findings by NTT DATA, revealed that American customers would be willing to switch insurers, just to get discounts on their homeowners insurance policy for utilizing Smart Home devices. In fact, the research showed that two out of three customers would be willing to make the change.
Suning Commerce Group, a China-based non-government retailer, showcased a comprehensive lineup of Smart products from its Suning platform at CES 2017. The CES platform allows developers and device manufacturers to showcase their technological and scientific innovations. China accounted for one third of the exhibitors at the event held in Las Vegas, Nevada.
