Delta, a leading provider of kitchen and bathroom faucets, announces its partnership with iDevices, a leader in connected home solutions, to create a wireless monitor for detecting leaks and pooling water. According to Water Damage Defense, 14,000 people in the United States experience water damage at work or home on a daily basis. The average insurance claim for water damage is about $7,000. The key to preventing water damage is quick detection, which is where the Delta Leak Detector would come into play.
Delta Leak Detector
The Delta Leak Detector’s shape is designed to detect even the smallest water droplets and immediately alert the homeowner of the findings. The detector features two concentric rings of conductive metal, which will detect 1/16 inch of pooling water. An audible alarm and interactive LED lighting will follow up the email or SMS notification.
“As busy as today’s homeowners are, the sooner they can catch drips or pooling, the better,” said Susan Fisher, vice president of marketing, Delta Faucet Company. “We leveraged our 60-year history of innovations related to water, in conjunction with iDevices, to develop a smart leak detector that can alert consumers as quickly and efficiently as possible – whether they are home or away – to water leaks, large or small.”
The detector works without a Smart hub, making the set up process even easier. Sync the detector with the home Wi-Fi network and download the accompanied app, which is powered by iDevices and available for both Android and iOS devices.
The Delta Leak Detector utilizes battery power, three AAA batteries that provide a run time of two years.
Delta showcased its new leak detector at CES 2017. Consumers will be able to preorder the detector in July and delivery is expected to begin by fall. For more information visit, please visit the company’s official website.
