Parents are sworn to protect their child at all times. The child’s safety becomes more of a concern when he/she is left alone in their nursery. The Dorme operates in a very unique manner and this is mostly contributed to the MoveOxy oximetry. This oximetry is designed to monitor the baby heart rate, respirations and oxygen saturation levels. This feature is a necessity for infants born with congenital heart defects. According to the CDC, 40,000 newborns are affected by congenital heart defects, which is about 1% of the children born in the United States each year.
The monitor attaches directly to the child’s right lower extremity, using an adjustable, soft Velcro strap. The probe must be strapped securely around the right foot, where it will have constant contact with the doralis pedis artery. You will also be happy to know that the oximetry and probe are constructed out of phthalate, latex, lead, and BPA-free materials.
When you receive your new Dorme’ baby monitor, you will need to download the Dorme’ Baby app to your smartphone or tablet. You will also need to pair the device with your existing Internet router and complete the initial setup process. Once you do this, you will be able to access the app interface directly from your smartphone. The app consists of preset oxygen saturation, respirations, and heart rate levels. The normal SPo2 is 95% and above, when the measurement drops below this level, an immediate alert will be sent to the parent’s app enabled device.
