Ecobee, a Toronto-based home automation company, founded by Stuart Lombard began operation in 2007. Lombard set out on a mission to make his home more energy efficient. However, he was met with many roadblocks along the way. So he decided to take his chances with a programmable thermostat, since heating and cooling consumed more energy than any other electric powered unit in his home. Lombard’s mission ended when the Ecobee Smart Thermostat was born.
Ecobee3 Lite Smart Thermostat
Ecobee provides consumers with Wi-Fi thermostats that will offer meaningful cost savings. The company’s main priority, when it came to developing the Ecobee3 Lite, was user-friendly operation, attractive design, and an unrestricted user interface that would communicate with other products and exchange data. The Ecobee mobile app will be available for both iOS and Android devices, with an innovative step-by-step installation support feature, Wizard.
The Ecobee3 Lite is guaranteed to help consumers save an average of 23 percent (based on 72°F Hold) each year, just on their monthly heating and cooling bill. The new thermostat supports Apple HomeKit and Amazon Echo, with Alexa, adding voice-control capabilities. Also, integrates with IFTTT and Samsung SmartThings and adaptable to 95 percent of heating and air conditioning units.
Ecobee3 Lite requires a hardwired installation, which eliminates the risk of dead batteries. Wizard will assist you through the installation process, so everything goes off without a hitch. The Ecobee3 Lite is expected to be launched into the market on October 31,2016.
