Fisher-Price, an American-based toy company, has been designing and developing toys since 1930. On Friday, the company launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for its Smart Connect Deluxe Soother. Parents can activate the soother from their smartphone or tablet, with the Smart Connect app and a Wi-Fi connection. The Soother measures in at 17.8cm H X 13.8cm W and weighs only 400 kilograms, which is perfect for a nursery.

Sleep Stage Plan

Every parent prefers to devise a bedtime routine that suits their infant’s needs. For this reason, the brand designed the Soother to offer parents an immense amount of versatility. The customizable “Sleep Stage” plan, with three stages will enhance the infant’s sleeping pattern.

Stage 1, Captivate, utilizes gentle music and lights to attract the infant’s attention. This stage is perfect for those moments when the baby is not ready to doze off.

Stage 2, Sooth, utilizes slower, softer music and dim lights to help the infant relax.

Stage 3, Sleep, utilizes a gentle nightlight and calming music to help the infant drift off to sleep.

The Fisher-Price Soother features a multi-colored starlight projection, animal silhouette projection and amber-colored nightlight. The Soother utilizes pink noise instead of white noise, because it has less volume in higher frequencies. White noise is many frequencies across the hearing spectrum with equal intensities, which may be too harsh for infants.

The Smart Connect app is compatible with both Android and iOS devices. Of course, if the parent does not have a mobile device, they can utilize the control panel buttons on the unit to make the necessary alterations.

The campaign is underway and backers can support Fisher-Price and receive the very interactive Smart Connect Deluxe Soother for only $34. The campaign is expected to close in the middle of January, with the estimated shipping date scheduled for June 2017.
