According to the company, the Family Hub 2.0 will assist homeowners in replenishing their cold and frozen food items. The interior compartment is equipped with cameras, providing users with a view of the items stored inside their refrigerator. The Groceries by MasterCard integration allows homeowners to order their items right from their smartphone, laptop or tablet.

The refrigerator’s interface has a built-in recipe app that will help the homemaker perfect their meals. The family can also interact with the refrigerator via the 21.5-inch touchscreen display, located on the front door panel.

“After just one year of availability, the Family Hub has transformed the concept of the connected kitchen by enabling users to order and manage grocery shopping, connect with family and friends, and access entertainment right from the comfort of their kitchen, said Byung-Sam Seo, president of home appliances at Samsung Electronics. The Family Hub 2.0 is entirely about helping consumers better manage as well as enjoy their lives.”

Samsung’s Voice Technology will allow users to interact with the appliance by using specific words and terms. This feature will enhance the user’s experience, while providing convenience and reliability.

The Family Hub 2.0 Refrigerator uses both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, so homeowners can remotely control the appliance, while at home or away.

Samsung will showcase the Family Hub 2.0 at CES from January 5 through 8 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The brand’s booth #15006 will be located on Level 1 of the Central Hall in the Las Vegas Convention Center.
