Target reopened its San Francisco-based showroom, which features an array of Smart Home products. Open House officially opened in July 2015 to give consumers hands-on experience with Smart devices. The company will begin selling its own Internet-connected Smart Lamp online under Threshold, a premium home furnishings brand.
The new Smart Home Consultation services will provide customers with guidance to build the perfect connected home. The Smart Home advisers will go out to the customer’s home to make personalized recommendations and demonstrate Internet-connected products, including Amazon’s Echo, Dot and Tap.
Parks Associates, an IoT research firm, conducted research on how important data from IoT products and technical support was to U.S. broadband households. The research shows that customers would exchange their IoT data for technical support benefits, such as product updates, tips to better use the product and warranty information.

Suning Commerce Group, a China-based non-government retailer, showcased a comprehensive lineup of Smart products from its Suning platform at CES 2017. The CES platform allows developers and device manufacturers to showcase their technological and scientific innovations.
