A Smart light bulb is a product that has taken the world by storm. Most brands offer affordable versions, making them readily accessible to all consumers. Most Smart bulbs operate in the same manner, with an embedded speaker and mobile app. The reason consumers are intrigued by Smart bulbs is because they allow them to create the perfect environment for all different types of situations.
CES 2017 is scheduled for January 5-8 in Las Vegas, Nevada, where hundreds of new technological devices, products and solutions will be displayed. Sylvania, a North American lighting manufacturer, will unveil the first HomeKit-enabled Smart bulb that doesn’t require an additional hub. This little tidbit sets the Sylvania Smart Multicolor LED apart from other brands, even Phillips Hue Smart LEDs.
Sylvania used embedded Wi-Fi radios, which will allow the bulb to be detected by the existing router instantly after it is screwed into the socket. This will actually be the first hub-free Smart LED that can be used with Apple’s HomeKit. Many consumers gravitate to the HomeKit Home Automation platform, because of Siri, a virtual assistant that can be controlled by voice.
Users will be able to activate the bulb from the Home app, along with all their other HomeKit-enabled gadgets. By accessing the Home app interface, users will be able to create scenes and remotely switch the bulb on and off. Users can also skip the app, by pinning a single or mesh of bulbs to their smartphone’s Control Center. Only a swipe up and tap will activate the bulb, turning it on/off.
The Sylvania HomeKit Smart Multicolor LED will be available on Amazon beginning in early 2017. In the meantime, be sure to check out Sylvania Lightify LED Light Bulb, by clicking on the Amazon button provided below.
