Ayla Networks, an IoT platform for device manufacturers, announces that Stelpro, a Canadian-based manufacturer of electric heating products, has chosen its IoT platform for the new Maestro Smart Thermostats.
The Ayla IoT platform allows device manufacturers to effortlessly connect their Smart devices to cloud, with a wide array of features, including grouping by zones and geofencing. These features are notable for simplifying the control of connected devices and aiding customers in reducing their energy bill.
Stelpro partnered with Mirego, a Montreal-based software developer, to create the companion app and user interface for its Smart thermostats. In addition to Mirego and Ayla Networks, the Stelpro also partnered with mnubo, another Montreal-based company that provides strategic insights and data analytics that will help consumers monitor and manage their energy consumption.
The Maestro Smart Thermostats provide convenience and remote control for Stelpro unit heaters, convectors and baseboard heaters. With Ayla Iot Platform technologies, the Maestro companion app will offer geofencing capabilities, which involves the creation of a virtual boundary, so when the homeowner enters and exits the geofenced area, specific actions can automatically be triggered.
Maestro Smart Thermostats will be available to North American home improvement retailers and electrical distributors beginning in fall 2017. The new Smart thermostats will be showcased at AHR Expo 2017, which is scheduled to take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center, beginning January 30 to February 1.
